Its kind of sad, these are probably sweat shop shirts at this price, but the quality is excellent and very minimal shrinking after washing the first time. A couple colors are poly/cotton blend, so check each color before you buy if you want only cotton.

I purchased this high-quality long-sleeve T because someone I love was suffering from full-body hives due to a prescription drug reaction. After learning that synthetic clothing - even synthetic/cotton blends - spreads that nastiness and that 100% cotton clothing does not (Hooray for Internet research!!!), we opted for the obvious. So, I bought 2: one in Black and one in Forest Green. We are thankful that our "great pestilence of 2019" is now in the past, in Huge part due to these 2 shirts, as they allowed an environment for healing. Though these shirts have served their primary purpose, they are certainly fashionable enough to continue as wardrobe staples for what I believe will be countless years of use and compliments. This is a fine shirt but I would not classify it as a "heavy" weight shirt.Other than that, it is a nice looking shirt and seems to be well constructed of quality materials. If you are looking for a truly heavy-weight shirt, the regular Hanes tagless long sleeve shirt is noticeably heavier than this supposedly "heavy" weight shirt. And the Hanes tagless heavy-weight shirt is much heavier by far! Just sayin' ...

This is more of a medium weight shirt and not as heavy the Haynes Beefy T's I've recently purchased. This is my personal opinion from 5 decades of wearing the aforementioned Haynes shirts in spite of what the chronic complainers and serial 1 star reviewers say. Yes this shirt does indeed have collar tags, and there are 2 of them. They are the sort tags that were a bit scratchy and irritating. But unlike those who lack the motor skills necessary to remove them my #1 girl dispatched the offending tags without me even mentioning it. This would have been a 5 star review but for an issue with uneven stitching at the ends of both cuffs. Therefore, rather than posting a 1 star review and crying about how unfair the world is to me I simply asked for a replacement. Less than 16 hours later the seller contacted me saying they had already refunded my purchase price in full.

Anyone who likes tees knows that once upon a year (prior to the Internet when we all shopped locally) perfect tees were simple to buy anywhere and it was taken for granted they would be nicely made, box cut (loose fitting), not too long or short, and were of 7oz + cotton. Never see through. Anyone who made crap see-through tees would have gone out of business. Mervyn's sold Cheetah branded tagless tees in every color that were cheap, didn't wrinkle, didn't shrink hardly at all, and held up. I know because I still have 3 or 4 that are 30yrs old and look new. No fraying at the collar, no little holes from the cotton deteriorating, no failed seams, and the collar still sits nice and flat and high against my throat.. perfection. Unfortunately Mervyn's closed their doors many years ago now.Still, for awhile Fruit of the Loom, Hanes and even Sears sold quality tees. If they still do, I haven't found the right one. So called "Beefy tees" are no longer beefy, and neither are "heavy tees." Everything today is see-through, advertised as "heavy." I must have bought 10 tees over the last several years looking for a quality shirt similar to what used to be the average shirt.Today's standard is thin, low-quality, 5 - 5.4oz cotton. And the tees that aren't pre-shunk shrink to high heaven so that you end up with a cotton wetsuit, or like this particular long-sleeved Gildan which is pre-shrunk, ends up fitting around the chest and waist but the length of the shirt and its sleeves are too long... the sleeves on this shirt are so long they "accordion" at the cuffs. And it is see-through, but not as bad as most. (I think it's 5.4oz cotton vs 5oz.)If I had the means I would start my own tee shirt business as anyone who did would make a mint if they just took an old Cheetah shirt to a manufacturer and said, "Replicate this for me - the cotton, the hems, the cut, everything..." and it could sell for a fair but premium price (as I'm sure that cotton has gone up) and would be a winner with so many people looking for a simple, good tee. So much in society have gotten better over the years - we even have probes leaving our solar system, still transmitting data back - but for some reason the simple tee is a forgotten, impossible art.By the old standard this Gildan would get 1 or 2 stars. By today's subpar standard it rates 3 in that there are many tees that are much worse. But that's not saying much and the hunt goes on. If anyone knows of a nice 7oz cotton tee, box cut, long or short sleeve, please leave a comment. Would be much appreciated.

Good shirt. The XXL shrunk to a close to XL size after one hot wash and dry. I buy XXL because of the long arms and loose fit, so it shrinks to a perfect fit. I am 6-1 225LBS

While the black was 100% cotton and the Sport Grey was a 90/10 cotton-poly blend, the 50/50 cotton-poly blend of the Graphite Heather was not acceptable. I bought these shirts based on the 100% Cotton description. I like the shirts, but I am dropping 2 stars for the hassle of the return and reporting the misleading description.

While the black was 100% cotton and the Sport Grey was a 90/10 cotton-poly blend, the 50/50 cotton-poly blend of the Graphite Heather was not acceptable.
