Description

Edwards 5980 is the ladies' version of the Redwood & Ross pinpoint oxford dress shirt, sharing the wrinkle-free 60% cotton, 40% polyester construction of the men's companion style 1978 but cut specifically for women with a spread collar, bust darts, a back yoke with back princess seams, and a curved hem. At 4.0 oz, the pinpoint oxford fabric is a finer, tighter weave than standard oxford cloth with a smoother, slightly lustrous surface that reads dressier than regular oxford while retaining the soft, cotton-dominant hand and breathability that make it comfortable through full shifts in corporate, hospitality, financial, and entertainment environments.

The wrinkle-free finish is the core performance claim of the 5980: the shirt comes out of machine washing looking pressed without ironing, which is a meaningful operational advantage for front desk, airline, banking, and hotel programs where a pressed appearance is part of the staff standard. The spread collar with permanent stays keeps the collar structure flat and open through a full shift without maintenance from the wearer. Bust darts and back princess seams shape the shirt through the torso and upper back for a tailored, body-conscious fit that a standard shirt cut cannot achieve.
