Edwards 1978 is part of the Redwood & Ross collection, Edwards Garment's premium dress shirt line built for office, financial, hospitality, and entertainment programs where a no-iron, tailored dress shirt is part of the professional appearance standard. At 60% cotton, 40% polyester, the shirt uses pinpoint oxford construction, a finer, tighter weave than standard oxford cloth. The smaller yarn interlacing in pinpoint creates a smoother, more lustrous surface that reads dressier than regular oxford while still carrying the soft hand and natural breathability of a cotton-rich fabric.

A wrinkle-resistant finish is the core performance claim of the 1978. A pinpoint Oxford with proper wrinkle treatment comes out of machine washing looking pressed without ironing, a practical requirement for programs where staff are responsible for their own shirts and a consistent pressed appearance matters throughout the day. A point collar with sewn-in permanent stays keeps the collar flat and structured without requiring the wearer to insert removable stays before laundering. 

A tailored fit through the body and no front pocket give the shirt a clean, uncluttered silhouette that works in formal corporate, financial services, airline, and upscale hotel front desk programs. A French placket, where buttons are hidden behind a folded shirt front, keeps the shirt front flat and formal, eliminating the visible button row of a standard placket.
