The S17916Men'ss Spyre Quarter-Zip from Spyder runs a 5.3 oz/yd² 89/11 polyester and spandex blend with four-way stretch, giving in every direction as the wearer moves. The standout quality is how it feels: a rich, cotton-like hand rather than the slick surface typical of performance knits, so it reads as a comfortable everyday layer while still delivering technical performance. UPF 40+ protection blocks a substantial share of UV, which matters on a piece meant for long days outdoors.

Three construction details work on fit and movement. Side gussets add fabric where the body bends, opening the range through the torso and underarm rather than letting the seam restrict a swing or a reach. Side vents release heat and let the hem move freely. A back dart shapes the upper back for a cleaner fit through the shoulders instead of hanging loose.
