    If your trying to decide between these and the similar Champion brand shorts, maybe this will help. Both are good shorts with similar quality. The only difference I see is the Russell shorts are maybe 1.5" longer and seem to be slightly "roomier". I like the length of the Champion shorts while standing, but they become too short for my liking while doing certain exercises. In the end I give a slight preference to the Russell shorts. The length is at or slightly below the knee, but perfect when squats or other similar exercises.

    I purchased both Russell Athletic and another slightly more expensive brand to compare, and to my surprise, the Russell shorts (both Dri-Power and the Mesh options) are not only slightly cheaper, they fit better and the quality is better as well! The braided loop tie-cords looked similar on all the models (except Dri-Power, which has an elastic-y traditional tie-cord) but to my surprise, one of the tie-cords already began to fray on the other brand's mesh short. I've worn these Russell shorts a few times now and they're holding up great. My only complaint is that I'm a short guy and these shorts go all the way to my knees but that's not a bother when I'm on the court. I highly recommend Russell Athletic shorts (especially the Dri-Power Performance models).

    Took a size smaller than usual and they're perfect, i'm 6'2 so i was expecting them to be kinda short for my height but they go to the knees like they should, and although they seem see-through, they're not, don't worry about exposing stuff if you go commando under them. Very comfortable to exercise, it's well aerated and they don't absorb sweat like cotton, would definitely buy another pair.

    These gym shorts are amazingly comfortable. I would wear them all day everyday if I could. I guess I could buy a ton of different colors but alas the price is higher than gym shorts used to be back in the day.Also, compared to Champion (which I used to wear for years before trying Russell), these are more comfortable. The waist elastic is a bit more 'cinched' which holds onto my waist a bit more whereas for Champion, it is too stretchable.Lastly, I wish the pockets of these were anchored to the shorts. Unfortunately if you having anything in your pockets, plan on it swinging around a lot and if you sit down, the pocket will sag down.

    These are very sheer and thin. The pockets are NOT lined. So they are mesh (holes) on one side of each pocket and the cheap poly liner as the other side of each pocket. Not likely to hold up well. If you carry more weight in your rear or have large thighs, there's plenty of room. As another reviewer mentioned, the draw string and other aspects make these good for losing or gaining weight. I purchased the Maroon, Black, and Navy, and really like the Maroon because the color looks black at certain angles and deep Maroon at other angles. Overall these are pretty cheap and I wouldn't recommend. If shorts have pockets they should be lined. You should be able to put your keys in them without fear of tearing a hole in the mesh.***UPDATE 6/18/2017***Last year after purchasing 3 pair, I was mostly satisfied but found them a bit thin. What changed? A year later and all pairs held up quite well so I just got the Steel/light grey pair. These are what you'd call a relaxed fit short with an inseam of exactly 9 inches.Where these will hit your knee really depends on your weight and how high or low you like to wear 'em. They're still sheer so I wear mine like basketball players over tights. One difference this year would be the shorter drawstring, which is fine as the elastic holds them up well. The logo on the side of the short used to be a cheap heat transfer which peeled off. Now there's an embroidered logo giving these a bit more class. I absolutely would recommend.With 4 pairs of these I'm now poised for world domination.

    I've been using the shorts for one year now - in that span, I've lost 70 lbs.They still fit - the elastic band is solid, and can adapt to your body.I love working out in them. They look good, and they feel good.One thing is that the white ones are pretty see-through, so your underwear color will show a little bit if they are dark or flashy.

    Our 14 y/o son is 5'10 and about 142 lbs and we ordered an AS. He ran his first half marathon in the pouring rain clocking a 1 hr 55 minutes finish time in these and there was no rubbing or bunching in weird places and they stayed put. Would DEFINITELY order them again for anything athletic.

    I've had a couple of pairs of these same shorts (different colors) and wanted to add more. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find the "exact" same shorts, since those I have are several years old. But these are exactly the same as those I have - different colors - and fit great. I only use these shorts for working out, and they are perfect - allows plenty of room, pockets (to carry your phone for music, etc.), not tight, breathe well and they look nice. The fit is very good too. I only give 5 stars to something that is outstanding...but these shorts are "close" to 5 stars.
