I really like this jacket, but it is not what I consider to be a shrug. To me, a shrug hits about mid-back or higher, and at 5'4", this hits me at the top of my hips in the back. True, the front panels are longer, but I consider this to be closer to a "high-low" jacket than a shrug.The color is a dark grey, or what I'd call charcoal. The weight is heavy enough to ward off cooler weather, so I didn't wear this during the Georgia summer. If you're wearing it to the office, you should be fine if your building blasts the air all of the time. I'll start wearing this again in a few weeks when the weather starts moving into fall.The color stayed true after washing as did the shape. I bought the XXL rather than the XL because I wasn't familiar with this brand or how it would hang over my bust. The drape is fine with the larger size, but I could have gotten the XL and been just as pleased.Overall, a very nice jacket that can be dressed up or down with anything from a pencil skirt to skinny jeans.
