Great jacket for cooler weather. Not really a spring jacket more for mild winter and late fall. It was a little heavier lined than expected, but great look and quality . Fit as expected as I don’t like puffy middles and this is nice and trim. I liked it so much, I kept even though I was looking for a lighter weight jacket

A great cut/shape and style, but the materials do not breathe at all, so no matter what the temperature outside, if you walk in this jacket for 20 minutes, you'll be sweaty. Port Authority made a slightly longer & looser, lightly-insulated, nylon-shell jacket a few years back that I was hoping to replace, but this is a shame because the style is good but the materials are all wrong.

Frankly, I'm not impressed with the sizing of this jacket. I purchased a 2XL, expecting it to fit as most jackets I've purchased have. This jacket was a little big around the middle, which I can handle, since I usually wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath. My biggest issue was in the size of the cuff opening. I don't have "ham-hands", and I could JUST fit my hand through the opening. The only way I could take the jacket off was either with someone trying to hold the cuff while I pulled my arm out, or by the jacket turning inside-out. This was while wearing a short-sleeve shirt, so no additional material bulk was added.

I guess that I thought a soft shell jacket was a fleece lining with an outer waterproof / windproof layer. This is not that kind of jacket.PRO* the fit is right... order large, you get large* unusually warm, thick, cozy and soft* my wife says it looks sharp on me* well madeCON* must add a cheap windbreaker to wear over it to be dry in a drizzle* overpriced for what it is -- a inner lining* to their credit, they advertise "core" soft shell, so I guess it means inner lining only -- perhaps this is accepted, standard nomenclature for these jackets, or perhaps it's just sneaky. I don't know.If you don't mind the price, I recommend it based on quality and function. It works fine for what it is... you can add a windbreaker only if you like or need it.

Fits about as you'd expect, maybe a touch smaller than most mediums, but it fit me pretty well anyway (5'6", 165lbs). Jacket is a little hard to get on, as the inner fabric is very grabby, and the sleeve is relatively narrow and armhole placed high. Other than that, it looks pretty nice, just don't expect a very expensive material or feel. It's an OK jacket, fairly thin, but looks nice overall. Will be a good fairly lightweight spring jacket for the Northeast.

Being a smaller guy around 5'4 about 120 lbs or so, it is hard to find clothing that actually fits nicely. Most jackets are usually to big that are labeled small like the Columbia Ascender which is the exact same size as the Port Authority Medium, just with the sleeves being 2 inches shorter. I went with the X-small which fit perfectly with the sleeves not being to long and the jacket didn't go past my waist too much. The lining isn't quite as nice as some other soft shell jackets, but for the price it competes against other brands. If you want a little more room you might go with a small. I can say the medium fits my dad who is 5'7 and 160 lbs with a little room. If you want a soft shell jacket that looks nice, fits true to size and doesn't break the bank I highly recommend.

Construction seemed okay, but both 3XL & 4XL had no real room for layering. Seems like bad design, but maybe soft-shells just weren't really meant to fit over a lot of layers. Tried another Port Authority jacket & it was too small too, so I think their sizing is way off.
