I recall reading reviews debating the "beefy" ness. Coincidentally, I'm wearing it at the moment and it's definitely not thin. It seems well made as I look at the cuff stitching and the pocket which is always a necessity for me. Holding up, all. Washed maybe a dozen times now, it remains sort of middle-deep cranberry, brighter than the one I had which finally expired after years, but just as great to wear in warm weather or under a flannel shirt when it's cold.No complaints. Happy I got it.

I bought a single maroon shirt. It is great the medium is a medium, heavy weight cotton. I am pleased. Then I purchased a 2 pk of the black ones. Big Mistake! This medium is more like Xtra large. The cotton is very lightweight and they just seem to be poor quality. Happy with the maroon one. I will use the black ones as rags.

The 3 stars may be the result of inattention on my part. I figured "Beefy Tee" meant heavier fabric (which it has) but not "relaxed fit". It is also the latter, especially in the armpit area. This allows skin-to-skin constant contact in that area; I call shirts that fit like that "BO shirts." Maybe TMI, but that's what it is, and simply one of my life tenets is to avoid BO shirts. It'll be OK in the winter when I wear something else over it.The shirt is very nice otherwise (though it was only just now delivered and I have not yet done a full inspection). The true test will show up in the dryer when I see if the hems (bottom and sleeve hems) flip up. I hate that. (Yes, I most likely fall somewhere on the autism continuum.)I think I'll look for this shirt in a ((non)) "beefy" tee.

These have been my go to t-shirts for 20yrs they are always heavy-duty, pre-shrunk, and a great price. I use these because when new their nice enough to use as a weekend casual dress shirt. But as soon as I get a stain on them they transition to work wear. I honestly have some that my wife has to cut into rags to retire them. Because they will last forever and they only get softer with time. And they do fit a bit loose but still better than the 3XL slim cut some other brands sell.
