Description

The Edwards 6460 is a ladies' sweater knit fleece jacket built for outdoor hospitality, grounds, campus, valet, and delivery service programs where a woman's outerwear layer needs to provide real warmth through cool outdoor shifts while presenting a softer, more finished appearance than a standard zip-up microfleece. At 10.4 oz and 100% polyester, the sweater knit fleece runs notably heavier than the standard 8 oz microfleece jacket—the additional weight comes from the sweater knit surface construction rather than added insulation, which gives the fabric a more substantial, textured exterior that reads more like a knit sweater than a technical fleece.

Sweater knit fleece uses a knit construction on the face of the fabric that creates a smoother, more structured surface texture than standard microfleece, while the inner layer remains a soft fleece that traps heat during wear. This two-texture construction is what makes the 6460 appropriate for programs where staff are visible to guests and the outerwear layer needs to look more finished and polished than a standard athletics-style fleece zip-up. Two zippered side pockets secure contents during active outdoor movement, and the left bicep pocket provides quick-access storage for a card, pen, or small tool without requiring the wearer to reach across to a chest or side pocket.
