Description

The Columbia 213624 Essential Hike is a women's half-zip pullover made from 100% recycled polyester grid back fleece with a 100% polyester lining. Grid fleece knits raised squares on the inside face with channels running between them, so air moves along those channels while the raised areas trap warmth. That structure is why grid fleece breathes better than a solid fleece of the same weight and why it holds up during activity rather than only at rest. The recycled polyester comes from reclaimed material rather than virgin production, and Omni-Wick pulls moisture to the surface to evaporate.

The half zip opens further down the chest than a quarter zip, so it vents more heat while keeping the lower body panel whole. Binding finishes the cuffs, hem, and collar, covering the raw edges so they hold their shape rather than stretching out. A zippered chest pocket secures small items. The cut is a regular fit. Columbia branding sits at the left chest, so decoration usually runs opposite it or across the back, applied with a backing since fleece gives stitches no firm base. Outdoor and hiking retail, layering programs, and custom decorated apparel programs are the common fit.

Care Instructions

Machine wash cold with like colors.
Do not bleach, as bleach weakens polyester fibers.
Tumble dry low to protect the fleece grid structure.
Do not use fabric softener, since it mats the fleece and blocks the air channels.
