Columbia describes the Hikebound II as a waterproof-breathable long jacket built to seal out the storm, featuring Omni-Tech waterproof-breathable technology with fully seam-sealed construction to help prevent moisture from entering through seams and stitch points during sustained rain. Its extended length provides additional coverage below the hips to help protect the lower back and thighs from rain and wind, offering greater coverage than a standard hip-length rain jacket. Constructed with a 100% polyester shell and a smooth 100% nylon 210T taffeta lining, the jacket layers comfortably over base and mid-layers while allowing easy on-and-off wear.

The two-way front zipper can be opened from both the top and bottom for greater mobility during hiking and outdoor activities, while the storm flap over the zipper adds another layer of protection against wind and rain. A drawcord-adjustable waist creates a more customized fit, and adjustable cuffs help seal out the elements. A hidden chest pocket provides discreet storage without interrupting the clean front appearance, while zippered hand pockets offer secure storage for everyday essentials.
