Ordered these softball pants for my 9 year old daughter. I ordered several different pairs from several different sellers to find the best option for future orders. I have to say these particular pants were DEFINITELY the best out of the several I tried. The material is sturdy yet breathable. Will be nice for the hot summer days out on the diamond yet keep her legs safe as she slides to the plates! Out of the several different pairs that I ordered from different sellers, these were the only ones that had belt loops....something I totally didn't think about when ordering yet something that turned out to be very important to complete her uniform.Other positives? The black color of this material is a vibrant black. Some of the others that I looked at in stores and the other pants that I ordered from other sellers were not. The other pants had black material that was dull and almost greyish. She didn't match the other girls on the field. With these she matched all of them and the black is so vibrant and 'black' that it was perfect. Also, I know I already mentioned this but the quality of the fabric is great. Last year during softball season we went through pants like crazy. I was buying new pants for her almost every other game (she loves sliding! haha) And with a heavy softball schedule of 25+ games that got VERY expensive very fast. Happy to know that this year won't be as expensive. These pants have so far lasted through four games, many many slides and are still in one perfect piece, with no holes, just like the day they arrived to my house. And one last positive...these wash up GREAT as well! Considering that I wash them AT LEAST three times a week. Again, in the past other brands have not held up so well. They would normally fade and the fabric would become thinner and thinner with each washing. These have held up perfect in all the washes so far..no fading, no shrinking, and the fabric is still in it's original condition. (And my ex husband even washed them two out of the 9 washes with the well water at his house...they held up great to that harsh water as well!)If I HAD to state a negative I can only think of one thing. During her first wear on the first day she complained a bit about how the bottom elastic felt on her calf muscle. My daughter is VERY athletic, plays running back on the boys football team, softball in the summer and gymnastics. She is basically in a sport all year round and her body reflects that. Her calf muscles are much larger than most girls her age and size. Pants not fitting right around her calfs is something that we battle with most pants. These pants were no exception. She pulled at them the entire game and afterwards, when they were off, she complained that she still had an "itchy mark" on her legs from the elastic. Again, this might not be a normal thing for your child, but if she has big calf muscles you may just want to be aware of that. It was an easy fix though. Her dad just used a little of his daddy muscle and pulled out the elastic a bit. It took him some time to get them stretched out because these really are good quality but in the end they were loose enough that we haven't heard her complain at all anymore.Overall VERY happy with these pants. Will be ordering again for extra pairs in the future.
