French terry is a knit with loops on the inside face and a smooth surface on the outside, which gives the fabric more body and texture than a plain jersey while staying far lighter than fleece. At 4.9 oz./yd², this is a lightweight version of that construction, so the tank has structure and holds its shape without the weight of a sweatshirt knit, and the even 50/50 split balances cotton softness against polyester shape retention and quick drying.

The racerback cut narrows across the upper back and shoulders, keeping the straps clear of the shoulder line and leaving the shoulder blades open, which suits both the styling and the movement a tank is worn for.
