The Columbia 211592 Hikebound II is a youth rain jacket made from 100% polyester soft dobby with a fine mesh polyester lining. Dobby weaves a subtle texture into the fabric rather than leaving it flat, which gives the shell a softer hand than a plain technical face. Omni-Tech is a waterproof and breathable membrane, and this jacket is fully seam-sealed, meaning every stitch line is taped over so water cannot enter through the needle holes. That seam sealing is what separates a real rain jacket from a water-resistant one, and it is the reason this holds up in sustained rain rather than only a light shower.

The mesh lining lets the membrane breathe rather than trapping vapor against the body, so it handles activity instead of only standing still. An attached storm hood adjusts to pull in around the face. Zippered hand pockets keep contents dry and secure through movement, and reflective detail adds visibility in low light, which matters on a youth garment worn near roads. The cut is a regular fit.
